Senior prom is symbolic of a last-hurrah, a
celebration of the past 4 years and a final sendoff to life’s next chapter. Whether
that means sharing the evening with your high school sweetheart or dancing the
night away with your best friends, prom night should be one to remember. While
many girls obsess about their appearance, their date, or miniscule drama, it’s
important to remember that years from now, these details won’t matter. Here are 3 tips to ensure you have positive
memories from your senior prom.
Choose A Dress Style You Feel Comfortable In
No matter what your best friend is wearing, the color
your mom likes best, or what dress styles are most popular this season, it’s important
to choose one that you feel comfortable wearing. If black’s your color, go for
it! Always wanted a princess dress? Do it up! Not a dress kind of gal? Go for pants! The
point is, be yourself and choose a style that makes you happy.
Take a lot of Photos
Likely, this will be the last major school event
with all of your high school buds. Plus, let’s face it, parents LOVE taking
pictures of their kids. Let them have fun with their cameras before prom. You’ll
thank them when you’re an adult and can look back at your date’s hairstyle and
your best friend’s Sherbert colored dress.
Enjoy The Moment
Try your best to shake off little hiccups that
might come up. So what if you get a zit the night before, your boyfriend’s
clunker stalls on the way, or you get basil stuck in your teeth at dinner
(bring floss)? This is a night you likely spent quite a bit of money on, or
quite a lot of time thinking about, so enjoy it! Take a minute to take it all
in. If you don’t recognize it now, you’ll likely look back on this night fondly
later in life. Reflect on the friendships you’ve made and the laughs you’ve shared because that's what matters most anyways.
